SASW organised the Social Work Day 2022 on 15 March to celebrate the social work profession. We were glad to celebrate with guests at SASW and many social workers and friends virtually on Zoom.
Highlights included a dialogue with Minister Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health on ‘Co-Creating a New World’.Dr Corinne Ghoh, Senior Consultant, Ageing Planning Office, Ministry of Health and Ms Chan Lay Lin, Principal Social Worker, Institute of Mental Health, shared insights on ‘Thriving in the New World’ and ‘Leaving No One Behind’.
Our social workers also showcased their talents with an original song titled ‘Burn Bright’ by Mr Yet Tun Hoong and recorded jointly with more than 30 other social workers. Three social workers also shared their photographs showing moments of their daily work currently on display in SASW’s virtual gallery. View their works and more from other social workers at the virtual gallery via this link https://bit.ly/SASWVirtualGallery
SASW extends our appreciation to Minister Masagos Zulkifli for gracing the occasion as our Guest of Honour, and MSF for supporting the event. We would also like to extend our gratitude to our speakers Dr Corinne Ghoh and Ms Chan Lay Lin for their insights and moderator, Ms Cindy Ng for facilitating the dialogues.
Once again, SASW would like to wish all social workers a Happy Social Work Day!
