More than 400 Medical Social Workers (MSWs) came together on the 28th Sep 2024 at Ng Teng Fong Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) auditorium to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Medical Social Work in Singapore.
SASW is proud to support the symposium and we would like to express our heartfelt thank you to all our speakers, panelists, booths partners who have generously shared about their initiatives and programmes and imparted their knowledge and practice wisdom to inspire the Medical Social Work fraternity.
Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development & Second Minister for Health, graced the symposium and encouraged MSWs to continue to develop innovative practices, never cease learning from one another, and to leverage technological tools to support their work.
Social workers play a dynamic role in creating sustainable integrated care. As shared by our keynote speaker Dr Corinne Ghoh (Associate Professor, Department of Social Work, National University of Singapore): “Social Work must evolve with the changing landscape and contribute effectively in addressing human vulnerabilities. Social Work’s contributions should go beyond remedial to preventive approaches to tackle the social determinants of health issues more effectively.” We have come a long way and the journey of health-social integration continues. Together, we will get there!
